I don’t know if I have mentioned this but I am doing a petition drive to have our school board replace our superintendent because in essense he is not a community minded player. I come from a very small town in Indiana where I grew up and now if not everybody, pretty much I know about everybody. I recently decided to spend my summer seeing how much one independent group could do for a community. We got 91 computers to families who needed them, the school was going to throw them away because they were replacing them. This was actually a big deal because the superintendent had soo many excuses about why this could not be done. The next issue came from a hiring policy that had him hiring his high school son for summer maintenance and other school board members kids and administration kids while we have kids who really could use the job to help their families. The thing that has my goat is one of the comments meant to hurt our cause was this, “her husband called the superintendent and apologized for her behavior”. Really, in this day and age. My husband didn’t do this but even if he had (I probably would have killed him), buy why would anyone care? If my husband’s opinion and mine differ is it likely that would be a valued argument to keep a poor superintendent? Because I am a woman the worst thing to be said is I don’t have the support of my husband? I was initially so angry, now I am thinking why would anyone think this is of value?
ugh…my husband…really
